3 Maintenance Tips for Your Outdoor Flat Top Grill

Grilling your food is an experience! Grills don’t come cheap, though. If you have an outdoor flat top grill, maintaining it properly will go a long way. The question is, how do you do it? What are the necessary steps to make your grill in good condition for a long time? Don’t worry; we got you. Check out some of the best maintenance tips below:

1. Griddle Care

The griddle is the surface where you cook your food. You prepare your food on it, and when you don’t use it, it accumulates a lot of dirt and oil. This can cause a buildup, making it flaky, burning your food, and giving it an unpleasant taste. To avoid that, you need to clean it regularly.

You just need to wipe down the griddle with a damp cloth after every use. That way, you can remove the dirt, the bits of food, and the oil.

Also, you can use a brush to remove the food bits which may be stuck in the holes of the griddle. After you remove the food, you should dry the griddle.

2. Grease Management

When you want to prepare your food, you need to make sure that your grill is grease-free. Grease should not be left on the grill because it will cause your food to stick to the grill surface and affect its taste. In addition, grease can catch fire, so you need to remove it as soon as possible.

You can clean your grill once you are done using it. Grab a kitchen towel and squeeze it wet. Clean the grease from your grill using this towel. If you don’t find any grease, you can do one more round of cleaning. You can also buy a cleaning product to clean your grill.

It is not necessary to clean your grill every time you use it, but it will be advantageous to do so if you plan to use it the next day.

3. Burner Inspection

Before you cook your food on the grill, you should inspect the burners. These are responsible for heating the grills. You need to turn the gas off and ensure that the burners are clean. If they are not clean, you will notice low flame.

Suppose you notice that the burners are clean and have a low flame; you should check the propane level. This will allow you to ensure that you complete your cooking task without any hassle. If you adjust the wind control knob, you will be able to increase the flame to set the desired temperature.

Clean your burners before cooking to get the best results for your cooking. You can use basic household vinegar if you have a stainless-steel grill. Pour some vinegar on the burners and let it soak for a while. Then, use a scrubber to remove the dirt.

The Bottomline

Taking care of your grill is not just about ensuring that your food is not burned. It is also about ensuring that the food you prepare on it is not affected by the grills. This is why you need to care for your grill. When you do so, you will see that your food is as delicious and healthy as ever before.
